The Emirate of Dubai extends along the Arabian Gulf coast of the United Arab Emirates for approximately 72 kilometres.

Types of Companies

The basic requirement for all business activity in Dubai is to obtain one of the following licences: commercial licence covering all kinds of trading activity; professional licence covering professions, services, craftsmen and artisans; or an industrial licence for establishing industrial or manufacturing activity.

Offshore Legal and Tax Regimes

There is no corporate tax in Dubai. The only exceptions to this are for oil producing companies and branches of foreign banks. Likewise, there are no personal taxes. Direct taxation is against the traditions of the UAE and it is highly unlikely that it will be introduced in the near future.
